Honda calls for revision to 13 million vehicles

Honda has recalled 13 million cars worldwide after it has been demonstrated several people have lost their lives because their airbag was not activated at the right time. All airbags that failed were manufactured by the company Takata.

Honda has recalled 13 million vehicles worldwide. The problem is all the airbags manufactured by Takata, apparently, have a defect does not unfold in time.

The news came a few weeks ago. Since then, more and more countries join the call to the workshop, although the United States, China and Japan are the most affected. "If there is the same problem in different countries, we want to respond in the same way in all of them," said the president of Honda.

Takata is one of the largest manufacturers of airbag in the world. Most of defective airbags were manufactured in Mexico and the United States were destined for the US market. US authorities the initiative to research the company grew, however, and despite the threat of millions in fines, Takata refused to call for review cars riding their bags.

A bug that caused five deaths
According to Honda, a woman driving a Honda City died last July 27 in Malaysia when his airbag broke upon collision with another vehicle.

The executive director of Takata, Shigehisa Takada, has published an apology on the website of the company, expressing his condolences on the death last announced and calling back the trust of customers.

In the US, there have been four deaths in traffic accidents linked to defects in the airbag produced by this manufacturer, according to US media.

Failures detected in airbags manufactured by Takata forced Honda and three other Japanese automakers (Toyota, Nissan and Mazda) calling revision total 3.4 million vehicles around the world since 2013.

The problem, which affects cars manufactured between 2000 and 2004, may cause accident the airbag is not activated.
